US politics already swamp out most of the content on the entire fediverse. It may seem like the world to you but there’s almost 200 countries on this planet that are not the US.

In my opinion, the mods chose the name because US politics is the only news that matters to them. They could very easily open themselves up to other countries’ political news but they resist that. It just seems stupid to act like the US is the main character.

When I grew weary of a specific perspective in certain places, and wanted to see a broader diversity… I started threads with citations from that viewpoint/fact-set.
It’s not the mods job to feed us threads. Their job is to keep things civil and to be fair to everyone who choses to participate.
I am aware of a mod’s role. What you said would make sense if it wasn’t stated in the rules themselves that only US politics is allowed in c/politics.
